DEVELOPMENT OF THE KONIMANSURI KALON SILVER DEPOSIT PROJECT
INVITATION FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan (the “Government”) is inviting interested investors to participate in the development of Konimansuri Kalon – a deposit of silver, lead, zinc and other associated metals, located in the northern part of Tajikistan (the “Project”).
The Government plans to conduct a transparent tender process in accordance with international standards in order to select an investor who will be given all necessary rights to develop the Project according to best international standards. The Government has hired International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, as its lead advisor to assist with the structuring and implementation of a tender process for the selection of a developer for the Project.
At this stage, all interested parties with necessary financial capabilities and experience in the mining sector are invited to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the development of this valuable deposit.
EOIs must contain a brief description of the interested company’s activities and confirm its interest in further participation in the tender process. EOIs must be sent to the Government with a copy to IFC at the addresses below by June 22, 2009 in either English or Russian, in maximum three pages, describing general financial and technical capabilities as well as relevant experience in the mining sector.

On August 24, 2010 the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Davlatali Saidov had a meeting with the UN Development Programme Country Director, Mr. Rastislav Vrbensky and UNDP Consultant, Ms. Doreen Wilson. In the meeting issues of support and assistance provided by the UN Development Programme to the government sector were discussed.
Inception workshop on the project “Support to Effective National Aid Coordination and Investment Promotion” was held in UNDP on the April, 16th 2010. It was organized by the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management (SCISPM), Donor Coordination Council (DCC) and UNDP.
Block Audit of Asian Development Bank - funded Projects in the Republic of Tajikistan The Republic of Tajikistan has received concessional long-term loans and grants from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the implementation of various projects and intends to use portion of the funds for eligible payments under a single contract for financial audit of Project Implementation Units.
The State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan jointly with the UNDP Technical Assistance Project “Support to Effective National Aid Coordination and Investment Promotion” has prepared annual guides “Development Partner Profiles 2009-2010” and “Foreign Aid Report - 2008”.

The Republic of Tajikistan has received an Additional Grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Dushanbe – Kyrgyz Border Road Rehabilitation Project, Phase II – Supplementary and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this Grant will be applied to eligible payments under the contract named above.Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

On February 26, 2008, in the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan (SCI) there was held a meeting of the Chairman of SCI, Mr. Farrukh Hamraliev, and a Deputy Resident Representative of the UN Development Programme in the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Farid Karahanov. The meeting covered issues of bilateral cooperation development between SCI and UNDP.

On August 15, 2007 the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan organized a presentation on the «Role of the SCISPM in private sector development and investments attraction».
A meeting was held in the SCI between the Chairman of the SCI Sharif Rahimzoda, the USA Ambassador Ms. Tracey Ann Jacobson and the USAID Country Representative Ms. Carolyn Bryan.
