On February 26, 2008, in the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan (SCI) there was held a meeting of the Chairman of SCI, Mr. Farrukh Hamraliev, and a Deputy Resident Representative of the UN Development Programme in the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Farid Karahanov. The meeting covered issues of bilateral cooperation development between SCI and UNDP.
In the course of the meeting an agreement was achieved that the UN Development Program will continue assisting the State Investments Committee in the sphere of investments activities and foreign aid. In this regards the counterparts expressed their interest in joint activities relating to promotion and coordination of foreign aid in the Republic of Tajikistan. For this purpose there was discussed a draft Joint Action Plan for 2008 which envisages preparation and conduction of a series of measures including organization of a number of workshops and meetings on attracting investments, familiarization with and use of international experience in this sphere, provision of consultants services by foreign companies and specialists, organization of study tours to adopt experience UNDP and foreign agencies have in the issues of investments promotion. The counterparts acknowledged it advisable to prepare and organize an exhibition of perspective investment projects in Tajikistan. The meeting was highly constructive and showed that SCI and UNDP have similar clear-cut positions as regards the issues of bilateral cooperation development. |

On August 24, 2010 the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Davlatali Saidov had a meeting with the UN Development Programme Country Director, Mr. Rastislav Vrbensky and UNDP Consultant, Ms. Doreen Wilson. In the meeting issues of support and assistance provided by the UN Development Programme to the government sector were discussed. |
