Business Forum of entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and India |
In accordance with the Agenda of the Forth Meeting of the joint Tajik-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation
on October 12, 2007 there was held a Business Forum of entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and India on “Perspectives of Investment Cooperation”. The Business Forum was attended by entrepreneurs and representatives of state structures of both countries took part.
In the course of the Forum the Indian entrepreneurs were submitted a package of investment projects and provided with information on investment opportunities of Tajikistan. Indian entrepreneurs have shown their interest in making investments in the spheres of health care, pharmaceutics, building of factories on cotton treatment, oil production, treatment of vegetables and fruits, textile industry, cement factory, as well as silver, gold and non-ferrous metals extraction. During the Forum some bilateral meetings were held discussing various issues of cooperation development.
On October 19 in the SCI a meeting was held with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Amar Sinha. In the course of this meeting the Indian diplomat has informed the Tajik part on the interest of Indian businessmen in exploration and development of the Fon-Yagnob minefield, production and treatment of cotton, extraction and treatment of non-ferrous metals. |

On August 24, 2010 the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Davlatali Saidov had a meeting with the UN Development Programme Country Director, Mr. Rastislav Vrbensky and UNDP Consultant, Ms. Doreen Wilson. In the meeting issues of support and assistance provided by the UN Development Programme to the government sector were discussed. |

The Republic of Tajikistan has received concessional long-term loans and grants from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the implementation of various projects and intends to use portion of the funds for eligible payments under a single contract for financial audit of Project Implementation Units. |
